[31 Jan 2007 | 15 Comments | ]

Welcome to the January 31, 2007 edition of Horse Lovers Blog Carnival. I am so excited about this first carnival even though we didn’t get that many submissions. There was a total of 12 submissions but some submitted two blog posts. I think I orginally said only to submit one blog post but I figured since this is the first one with only a few submissions we ought to include all of them.
The italicized text are my own comments . Hope you enjoy reading posts from horse lovers around the blogosphere.

There is an ever-growing lack of concern for the equine. In the news we see stories of neglect and abuse. We see people with very little understanding of the basic needs of the equine and its contribution to mankind. We see hearts that have no compassion for an animal that is willing to give up its life for his human companion. Why do so many people seem to just not care? What can be done about the ever-growing lack of concern for the horse? Is there a way to change …

Update: The fundraiser that was associated with the article was headed by Horse Approved only.  Neither Fran Burns or the Washington Humane Society had any association with this particular fundrasing event.  Horse Approved is no longer hosting the fundrasing event. The host usually includes a little information about the posts listed. The desire of this carnival is to have links to posts that you are especially proud of. The topic must be horse related but …

I was just over at EverRider and read an interesting post about ground work training.  I believe that ground training is essential to having a good relationship with your horse.  Like with most animals the more time you spend with them the better they will be for you.  But if a busy life prevents you from spending more time with your horses you can at least make the most of the time you do spend with them.  As I mentioned in my “Walk Your Horse Like a Dog” article, ground work can also …

It’s time to buy hay again.  Here in California it’s $10.95 for a 75-100 lb bale of Alfalfa. We only have two horses but it’s still expensive.  So I had to find work to help with my expensive hobby and to help with the household bills as well.
So this is where paid blogging comes into the picture. I found out about paid blogging about 6 months ago and have made about $3000 since then.  Paid blogging is basically advertisers paying bloggers to right reviews, opinions or discusion about a product, service …
