Welcome to the January 31, 2007 edition of Horse Lovers Blog Carnival. I am so excited about this first carnival even though we didn’t get that many submissions. There was a total of 12 submissions but some submitted two blog posts. I think I orginally said only to submit one blog post but I figured since this is the first one with only a few submissions we ought to include all of them.

We see people with very little understanding of the basic needs of the equine and its contribution to mankind. I was just over at EverRider and read an interesting post about ground work training.  I believe that ground training is essential to having a good relationship with your horse.  Like with most animals the more time you spend with them the better they will be for you.  But if a busy life prevents you from spending more time with your horses you can at least make the most of the time you do spend with them.  As I mentioned in my “Walk Your Horse Like a Dog” article, ground work can also …

It’s time to buy hay again.  Here in California it’s $10.95 for a 75-100 lb bale of Alfalfa. We only have two horses but it’s still expensive.  So I had to find work to help with my expensive hobby and to help with the household bills as well.
