“Although she lives hours away, Fran Burns of Monkton, Md., said she and three other area horsewomen are on a mission to help the Humane Society and satellite farms care for the horses.”

The recent discovery and seizure of 72 abuse horses has brought the horse passionate people together. Fran and a group of other horsewoman will be heading up a carvan to help aid the Washington County Humane Society.

“We decided we wanted to get some more hay and really fill the barns up, because they’ll be out of hay February 22,” Burns said.

Burns has been posting flyers in her area to find people will to help in the donation of hay. I decided this needs to be a world wide fundraising event. So Horse Approved is heading up a Washington Humane Society Fundraising Event. Horse Approved will be taking contributions via ChipIn widget. My hope is to at least raise $1,000 by February 22nd. But I will continuing the fundraiser until March 29th.
