Horse Approved is Changing - Community and Blog Update

I just recently updated the theme for the Horse Approved community and plan to do the same to the homepage.

My hope is that I can improve the look and feel of the homepage for easier navigation.

This blog is going to turn into to a community highlights blog. My personal blog entries are going to be posted within the community. You can check out my profile here if you would like to friend me.

I will post about recent activity in the community as well as other various topics. There are a lot of great photos, blog posts and videos being added everyday.

If you haven’t joined the community, we would love to see you there.

Spring Is Here! - Horses and Warm Weather

It’s getting warmer outside, the flowers are blooming, baby animals are being born. It must be spring. I love spring. It’s my favorite time of year.
For some компютри reason this spring I am having a difficult time getting out to work with the horses. I don’t really have a good excuse for not getting out. I am very busy but that doesn’t seem to ever end so I can’t use that as an excuse. The problem is I really do want to have my “horsey time”. I don’t know about you but the time I spend with my horses is very therapeutic. So why don’t I do what is good for me? Not sure I know the answer to that one. I do know that this is not the only area of my life I neglect.
My hope is that my horses won’t be too angry at me that I have not worked with them for a while. The are still enjoying life. Since it is spring there is plenty of grass for them to graze on. I have highly food motivated horses so the time the get to spend grazing is horse heaven to them.
I think this weekend I will at least make it a point to groom them. I know they really enjoyed being groomed.

I am having a difficulty finding time for the Horse Lovers Blog Carnival so I am going to take a break from it for a couple of months. I know many people enjoying being apart of the carnival and hope to continue running it in a few months.

Welcome to the first Horse Lovers Blog Carnival of 2008. It’s been a crazy year so far. I was having technical problems with the carnival and was not able to separate this carnival from the last carnival in 2007. Since I wasn’t sure what submissions were for this carnival and the last carnival I decided to post all of the articles I wasn’t sure about. So some of these articles may be repeats but I didn’t think there would be any harm in that. I could have gone through each article to check for repeats but I just didn’t have time.

This Month’s Horse Lovers Blog Carnival Is Postponed

Since very few people submitted articles to this month’s blog carnival, I decided to postpone it till next month. I will combine the posts already submitted to the next carnival. I didn’t advertise this carnival like I usually do and that is probably why it didn’t get very many submissions. I was also having trouble with closing the last carnival and the articles that were submitted ended up in the last carnival.

I will be contacting those of you that were interested in hosting the next carnival. So the next carnival will not likely be on Horse Approved.

Community members, please remember you are welcome to join in on the carnival. Submitting your blog posts from the community need to be sent directly to me because the blogs are set up like blogs outside of the community.

Anyone have any suggestions on what theme we should have for the next carnival?

Next Horse Lovers Blog Carnival - January 30th - Spending Time With Horses

Next Horse Lovers Blog Carnival is January 30th and the topic is “Spending Time with Horses”. You can of course submit posts about anything related to horses but it would be nice if you could include a post about how you have spent, do spend or plan to spend time with horses. This a great time for goal setting. If you want to spend a certain amount of time this year riding, include a post about how you plan on reaching goals.

You are allowed to include two submissions for this carnival. Horse Approved will be hosting this carnival again this month but remember you are always welcome to be the next host. If you are interested in hosting a future carnival please feel free to contact me.

No Horse Lovers Carnival This Month

With Christmas approaching I have been really busy and was unable to promote the carnival like I had hope. The carnival this month was also going to end up the day after Christmas which means I would have had to prepare for it on the day of Christmas.

We will however be start right back up in January. The topic for January’s carnival will be - Spending Time With Horses. What are your goals this year for training or bonding with horses, educating yourself or teaching others about horses? The new year is a great time to set goals for all areas of your life. All blog post submissions that have to do with horses are of course welcome but if you can stick to the topic that would be great.

I will be setting up this carnival soon so start thinking about what you want to write about
